326-1644 Fuel Water Separator: Filter Element or Complete Assembly?
2026/09/19
When a buyer requests a 326-1644 fuel water separator, the first question is whether the order covers the filter element or the assembly shown in the photograph. Our 326-1644 / 3261644 product gallery shows a yellow filter marked 326-1644 together with a metal head and a transparent lower bowl. A number printed on the filter does not identify every adjoining component.
Separate the visible components on the quotation
Ask for individual confirmation of the filter element, head, bowl, lower fittings and any electrical attachment included in the offered package. If only the element is required, say which existing parts will be retained and supply their identification. If a complete assembly is required, list the expected components rather than assuming everything in the gallery is included.
The words printed on a filter can help identify its claimed type, but they do not demonstrate a test result. Do not infer a micron rating, water-removal percentage or service life from the yellow colour, product photograph or general efficiency wording.
Which head connections need a closer look?
Photograph the existing head from the same side and label the hoses before submitting the inquiry. Ask for the inlet and outlet identification, port thread specifications and the number of plugs or adapters included. A plug that looks the same from outside does not prove that the connection underneath matches.
For an electrical attachment, request its function, reference and connector details. Do not assume that a black housing is a particular type of sensor or assign a pin function from its shape. Supply the applicable equipment identification so the offered arrangement can be checked against the installation.
What should be confirmed at the lower bowl?
Compare the bowl connection, lower fitting arrangement and available clearance with the existing installation. Ask whether the bowl and its seals are supplied new, reused from the old assembly or excluded from the price. If a fitting differs, request its specification and purpose before accepting it as an equivalent arrangement.
A close-up without a scale does not establish thread diameter or pitch. Provide measured details where available, but keep the measuring points and units clear. Service and draining procedures should come from the applicable equipment instructions, not from a sales image.
Use a quotation with a defined component list
An actionable request states: required filter reference; element-only or assembly scope; existing head and bowl identification; required connections; machine and engine details; and quantity. Ask the supplier to identify every included component and state any exclusions in writing. This makes two quotations comparable and reduces ambiguity at delivery.
Prepared from the product marking and G-logo gallery photographs reviewed on 19 September 2026. No filtration test, water-separation measurement or installation result is claimed.
